As I wrote before, no candidate wants to run on closing schools and against smaller class sizes. But this is the reality of our current public school system: less students, mediocre learning outcomes, and the most lavish per pupil funding in the country.
I do believe that some serious candidates, if elected, will look at what is happening in Chicago public schools and make changes to avoid NYC going down the same path.
